Ibexes are very popular in the Canton Graubünden, where I grew up. Also, the Tourism Office of Graubünden uses trick movies, featuring two Ibexes by the names “Gian & Giachen” to welcome visitors to the region. The movies are very popular as well. There exist also several children’s books with the same title.
In 2019 I created a commissioned sculpture of an Ibex by the name of “Gian”. This sculpture is sold out, so I sculpted a follow-up bronze, this time wit 2 Ibexes: “Gian & Giachen”. The sculpture is presently in the process of being cast at Perseo Foundry in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Last week I had the chance to work on the wax copies.
