I was asked to create a sculpture of this specific horse, a Palomino Half-Arabian Filly, in action during a reigning competition. The horse with its nick name “Lulu”, has a very long mane and as it performs in reining classes, the mane flatters way out during a “spin”. As with the first sculpture I did of its half- brother, I was asked to add the saddle blanket, the saddle, and the headgear. Because I intend to have additional sculptures of this horse cast, I created an additional, shorter, mane and created the tack in wax only, to be added on the first copy. The first “saddle-less” copy is now finished and shown together with the original.
