BronzeSculpture

Sister Act

A few years ago I created a 3D copy of “Zwei Blaue Fohlen, which was painted in 1911 by Marc . When I visited the large sculpture Exhibition in Bad Ragatz, called “Badragartz” in 2021, I decided to try to create some life-sized sculptures. The exhibition takes place every 3 years lasts 6 months. Unfortunately, my application was not accepted. Nevertheless, I decided to continue with my plan and create at least one such sculpture. A friend helped me with the welding of the armature. With the help of hard board, chickenwire, duct tape and fitting glue I was able to shape the rough sculpture. Then covered the sculpture with a layer of oil-based clay. It took me a total of 220 hours of work to finish the two yearling foals. We transported them to the Perseo-Foundry in Mendrisio, where they first created the form around each foal, then divided the form into the legs, the trunk, the neck and head, the ears and tail. In each of this partial forms a wax copy was made, which eventually was cast in bronze, followed by the assembly of all parts. The finished sculpture will be installed at its destined place. A maximum of 3 such sculptures will be cast if desired.
