White Turf, St. Moritz, Homestretch

The horse races on the frozen lake of St. Moritz, Switzerland on packed snow over the ice that take place on three subsequent Sundays every February, are called “White Turf Races”. They are a huge attraction to all the tourists that spend their winter vacation in the beautiful valley of the Engadin. It is a very colorful and popular event. For this lithograph I prepared two stones, one for the horses and riders and the other for their blue shadows on the snow. The jerseys of the jockeys were colored with pencils. So again it is a “processed” print.
